Sleight of hand & comedy
DanielSchwartz
Nephrologist by day, magician by night. Sleight of hand, warm comedy, and close-up wonder for corporate events and continuing medical education across the Lower Mainland.
These Magic Moments
Two benefit nights · 8 & 10 December 2026
An intimate evening of magic about the moments that stay with us for a lifetime. Both nights are benefit performances at Alliance Française Vancouver, and all proceeds go to charity.
The performer
Wonder, wit, and a healthy dose of science
Daniel Schwartz is a Vancouver-based magician who has spent a lifetime with a deck of cards in his hands. His magic is close-up and conversational — built on sleight of hand, misdirection, and the kind of easy humour that makes an audience feel like they are in on it rather than being fooled at.
By day he is a nephrologist and a Clinical Assistant Professor of Medicine at UBC, which supplies both the precision and the punchlines. (Fair warning: when Daniel takes the stage, urine for a treat.)
Teaching is the other half of his working life, and educational events are his favourite booking of all. A room that has just been fooled is a room that is paying attention — which is why he builds the magic into the teaching rather than around it.
Alongside his son, award-winning magician Jack Schwartz, Daniel is the co-creator and co-star of Generations: A Magic Show.
Magic for your event
Two kinds of booking: corporate and CME
Corporate events
Receptions, conferences, client evenings, and holiday parties. Close-up magic in your guests’ hands while the room is moving, or a seated stage set once everyone sits down.
CME and medical education
Magic built into a CME evening, grand rounds, or a conference session, from the perspective of a working nephrologist and UBC Clinical Assistant Professor of Medicine. Daniel makes learning science and medicine fun.
Corporate and CME bookings only — Daniel does not perform at weddings or private parties. His own benefit nights, like These Magic Moments, are a separate thing.
Father & son
GenerationsA Magic Show
Two generations of magicians, one stage. An evening of illusions and warm father-and-son banter about how magic gets handed down — created and performed with Daniel’s son, award-winning magician Jack Schwartz.
